Teen Track
This year’s TypeOneNation Summit will offer a track geared towards T1D teens, ages 13 – 17, which will occur at the same time as the breakout sessions their parents will be attending. This will include two breakout sessions that will give the teens the opportunity to learn, support each other, connect and have some fun!Parents, we are focused on offering a safe and secure environment and will need your help with a few things.
- Space is limited – You must register your Teen for the TEEN TRACK TICKET for ages 13-17.
- Parents are not permitted to leave the TON Summit premises without their Teens.
- Please review both the photo release and legal liability waiver
- Please know that we contact you by text or call if any child needs help with their T1D management.

Kim currently serves as Chair of Research on the JDRF Northern California Chapter Board. She is also a volunteer clinical trial educator for JDRF where she works to ensure patients and families could learn about important clinical trials for T1D. She became involved with JDRF when her daughter Nina was diagnosed with T1D in 2019.
Professionally, Kim runs executive education programs in Product Management at UC Berkeley. Kim has a BS from Wharton and an MBA from UC Berkeley. As a leading female CEO, she has been featured in five books and has appeared on the cover of US News & World Report. In addition to the JDRF Northern California Chapter Board, Kim has also served on many Advisory Boards including the Haas School of Business and Nokia Innovent.

Sarit Polsky, MD, MPH is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Colorado and the Director of the Pregnancy and Women’s Health Clinic at the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes. Dr. Polsky has been a principal investigator (PI) or co-investigator on numerous clinical trials for diabetes technologies and therapies in adults with T1D. She is the PI for the first study in the US approved by the FDA to examine artificial pancreas technology in pregnancies associated with T1D.

Eric Tozer is a diabetes ambassador who empowers the community through sports and utilizes his athletic accomplishments as a platform to inspire and educate. In 2019, Eric made history becoming the first person with T1D to complete the world marathon challenge, running 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 consecutive days.

The TypeOneNation Summit is an educational and networking opportunity for all those impacted by type 1 diabetes (T1D). This year the TON Summit will bring our community together to learn from T1D experts, hear about the latest breakthroughs in T1D research, meet vendor exhibitors, connect with others impacted by T1D, and more. We look forward to having you join us!
Our Teen Track Program geared towards T1D teens is back as part of the TON Summit. If you are interested in bringing your Teen grades 8 through 12 to the TypeOneNation Summit and having them participate in our Teen Track Program, please read below for the details and waivers required for registration.

The educational program and conversations will be geared towards an adult audience. Child care is not available. With respect to event and participant safety, there will be no Kid Zone offered this year.
Continental breakfast, snacks and a buffet lunch will be provided for all attendees.
