Sharing a Hero Journey

The most impactful resource we have is our people. That is why JDRF has collected a suite of stories of people living with and affected by type 1 diabetes.

These stories – some short form with a few sentences and some longer form with a few paragraphs – show just how much type 1 diabetes affects everyone and the impact it has on lives.

Our heroes, who have each provided their age, age at diagnosis, and location answer the questions:

• Fill in the blank – I’m the _______ type.
• What will a cure for type 1 diabetes mean for you?
• What do you want people to understand about type 1 diabetes?
• What big or small type 1 diabetes win stands out in the last month?

These can be used internally to help staff understand who they are supporting, in external marketing materials and emails, on digital landing pages, in social media posts, etc – in whatever ways you see fit and are best for your channels.
