One Voice working with Congress

You may not be aware that crucial Federal Government funding for T1D research isn’t automatically renewed each year—or that new technologies and therapies require broad constituent advocacy to get regulatory approval and delivered faster to patients.

JDRF Children’s Congress

During JDRF 2017 Children’s Congress, 164 Delegates traveled to Washington, D.C., to meet with lawmakers to share their personal stories of living with T1D, and explain the importance of Federal funding in T1D research.

This biennial campaign prepares JDRF Advocates to meet locally with their U.S. Representatives and U.S. Senators in Congress—while back in their home states and District offices—to establish personal relationships and explain how regulatory and health policy changes can deliver new therapies for T1D.
