Neil’s Triple Header

in

When thinking about how he wanted to support JDRF this year, Neil decided just a bike ride wasn’t enough!

Earlier this year, Neil committed to his triple-header- participating in 3 incredible and challenging events with a goal of raising over $30,000 for JDRF.

On June 11th, Neil rode 100 miles in the Grand Rapids, MI Ride to Cure Diabetes. This was Neil’s fourth ride with JDRF after previously completing the Tucson ride in 2017, Death Valley in 2018, and Saratoga Springs in 2019. Neil completed his Grand Rapids ride in 6 hours and 38 minutes, and started off his fundraising strong! By June 11th, Neil had raised $22, 632.

On August 6th, Neil ran the New York City Half Marathon in Central Park.Ā  Although it was a hot and humid day, Neil didn’t stop! He completed his half marathon in 1 hour and 58 minutes, with his fundraising now at $23,282!

Finally, Neil took on the Berlin Marathon! On September 25th, Neil ran 26.2 miles in Germany to finish his triple header for JDRF. Neil finished the marathon in 4 hours and 18 minutes.

Neil’s total fundraising is $31,500! This is an astonishing amount and we are so grateful to have Neil on our team and in our fight to find a cure. For Neil, type 1 and his fight for a cure is personal. Neil’s best friend Richard’s daughter, Zoe, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 6 years ago. Richard and Neil ride, and run, to find a cure for Zoe and all others living with T1D. Thank you, Neil!
