On December 19, 2016, Zachys Wine & Liquor of Scarsdale and The Scarsdale Police Benevolent Association presented $21,000 to JDRF New York City Chapter. Proceeds were raised at the annual PBA Golf Classic, which supports several local charities. Zachys has been a fantastic partner of the New York City Chapter for several years; the donation will once again be used to support the Young Leadership Committee (YLC) and their annual fundraising event, One Night. One Night is a culinary tasting event attended by 600 of New York City’s young professionals. The evening features an open bar, live DJ, tastings from top NYC restaurants and more. Last year’s event raised more than $160,000 for type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. This year’s event will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 7-11pm at Marquee New York.

The YLC is comprised of ambitious up-and-coming community leaders in the greater NYC region, who share the same purpose in treating, preventing, and ultimately curing T1D. The approach is simple: Put the “Fun” back into fundraising, through various events throughout the year where we bring together a bunch of great individuals for exciting and impactful events.
