An adventure of a lifetime

LOOKING TO CHALLENGE YOURSELF AND BE A PART OF AN AMAZING GROUP OF PEOPLE?

JOIN THE 2018 RIDE TO CURE DIABETES PROGRAM THIS YEAR!

JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes is a charitable bike ride that to-date has raised over $47 million for type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. The Ride gives cyclists of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to support breakthroughs that transform the lives of people with T1D, until there is a cure.

Our Death Valley Riders in 2017

JDRF Ride isnā€™t just a bike ride: itā€™s an experience where hundreds of riders come together from all over the world to make new friendships, enjoy the unparalleled camaraderie of the Ride community and raise money to help end T1D.

Reach your goals

Riders choose one of ourĀ fundraising packagesĀ and set their own mileage goal. Along the way, youā€™ll receive the full support of the JDRF Ride communityā€”including everyone from Ride coaches to the fundraising expertsā€”who will help you reach and exceed your fundraising and training goals.

Join the JDRF Ride Community

When you register, youā€™ll become a part of the JDRF Ride family, a community of all ages, who return year after year to inspire each other and raise money for life-changing T1D research.

In addition to enjoying the camaraderie, registered riders who complete their fundraising will receive a commemorative JDRF Ride jersey made by Hincapie Sportswear. Any T1D Rider can choose to receive a special T1D version of this jersey insteadā€”and inspire us all as you cross the finish line!

Pick a premier Ride event

There are six 2018 JDRF Rides across the country. Each of the Rides, which occur August through November, offer a unique and unforgettable experience. From riding the rolling hills of upstate New York to the desert of Santa Fe, JDRF has a Ride for you.

Our Westchester/Fairfield/Hudson Valley Ride Community

Nationally, 2,030 riders are registered and 60 are from our chapter territory. With 20 first time riders and 15 T1D riders in our group, this will surely be a record breaking year. All our new riders are excited to be participating and taking on the challenge of ride especially after attending one of our annual Ride Meet-ups to learn about ride and hear from veteran riders about their experiences.

New and veteran riders gathered together at the Westchester Ride Kick Off.

New riders share ā€œwhy they have decided to joinā€ the ride program this year!

Buell Duncan said, ā€œOur youngest son, Christian, who was diagnosed with T1D 6 years ago during his junior year in high school, is my inspiration. Last weekend, he graduated from the University of Notre Dame! His older brother is a serious cycler. The chance to do something for an important cause that we all deeply believe in and do it with our family (our daughter is also riding!) is an incredible opportunity.ā€

Buell looks forward to cycling more seriously, spending time with his children and getting in better shape. He noted that ā€œThis is my first Ride to Cure Diabetes and weā€™ll ride in Amelia Island in October. Iā€™m excited to participate and support JDRF. Also, the time with my family and getting more physically fit are huge benefits. Meeting so many new wonderful people will be exciting too.ā€

New riders Michael and Barbara Arman look forward to their first ride with friends in Saratoga Springs. Michael stated ā€œBarbara wanted to do something different this yearā€, and Barbara said ā€œa fellow board member speaks so highly of ride and encouraged me to take the challenge.ā€ They both agreed that ā€œthe ride inspired us to become riders this year.ā€ Michael says ā€œthe ride sounds like funā€ and Barbara noted that ā€œno matter how far you are, you are always half way home, so the saying goes.ā€

We thank all our riders for making 2018 a record breaking year!
