Advocating for Students Living with T1D

January 24, 2019, Hollis, NY
7:00 pm

Every child with type 1 diabetes (T1D) has a legal right to a Section 504 Plan or an Individual Educational Plan (IEP) to ensure he/she is safe at school. Daniel O. Phelan, Esq., founder, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of the Type 1 Action Foundation and Director of the Center for Diabetes Rights at Eisenberg & Baum, LLP, will join us to walk you through the process so you are prepared for your child’s annual Committee on Special Education meeting. Learn about reasonable accommodations, get answers to your questions and be prepared! JDRF knows its hard not to worry about your child, and having a plan in place, will help lessen that worry and keep your child safe, healthy and will ensure educational success.
