November is National Diabetes Awareness Month! During the month of November, we’ll be featuring “Faces of Diabetes”, stories of our loved ones living with Type 1 Diabetes.

Today, we share Abby’s story:

Abby was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when she was 5. It was one week before she started kindergarten. Abby was amazingly brave then and continues to be now 4 years later. She has never let T1D slow her down. Abby loves to dance and compete with her cheerleading squad. She also plays softball. Abby is very creative and loves to draw, paint, and make crafts for her friends and family. Abby  has become more independent with her diabetes management since she started using an insulin pump last December. Every single day she makes us so proud!
