Missed One Walk Day? It’s not too late to join the One Walk family

in

National Diabetes Awareness Month may be coming to an end, but we’re not finished celebrating the 1,500 walkers and 308 teams that participated in One Walk on

Sunday, November 1 across the Greater Delaware Valley.

That’s because JDRF One Walk isn’t about one day, or even one month! It’s about working together every day to get us closer to a world without T1D while recognizing the resilience of those who are living with type 1.

As we begin our holiday shopping, that doesn’t mean we’re going to stop fundraising and walking for cures. We have 1.6 million miles to conquer and $50 million to raise, and we’re not going to stop until we get there.

The GDV fall walk sites will remain open for fundraising until spring, but the prize code deadline is January 6 (prize codes will be sent to your inbox approximately two weeks after the deadline.) An easy way to reach that next level? Make an end-of-year appeal and make sure to go to www.jdrf.org/matchinggifts/ to see if your donations are eligible to be matched!

Head to your local site below to log more miles and continue fundraising:

Missed One Walk Day? It’s not too late to join the One Walk family by donating to one of our 6 fall walks or….

By saving the date for the Greater Delaware Valley’s two virtual spring walks, One Walk Northeast PA and One Walk Wildwood, on May 23, 2021!

You heard the right! Registration for both events will be open soon, and we can’t wait to share all details with you regarding this year’s virtual experience! While we are so sad that we won’t be seeing you in person again this year, we know this decision is in the best interest of our JDRF community and we can’t wait to celebrate with you virtually. Even during these uncertain and challenging times, the T1D community does not let adversity get in its way.

We will announce much more about our plans in the upcoming weeks, but here’s some of the amazing things you can look forward to:

  • Opportunities to connect with the local T1D community
  • A greater sense of connection with members of our global community
  • A virtual kickoff, new resources, incentives and fundraising challenges!

No matter how you participate this year, thank you for being part of the JDRF One Walk family. We’re incredibly grateful for you, your many miles walked, and every penny raised to keep research moving forward. While we’re apart this year, we’re always #StrongerTogether.
