The ONE WALK Wait is Almost Over!

in ,

For two years, the Greater Delaware Valley Chapter’s One Walks have been virtual. For two years, we’ve pounded the pavement in separate neighborhoods. We’ve fundraised over Zoom, counted our miles on Strava, and connected with each other online.

And while the past two years have been trying in many ways, our community rallied together to raise $2.2 million to power research, enable advocacy, and fund support for the 1.6 million Americans living with T1D. And we’ve learned a lot over the past two years, but we won’t lie… we missed seeing your faces on walk day.

Today, the wait is almost over. In less than ONE month, we’ll be launching One Walk 2022 with three in-person opportunities.

So GET READY, because we need to come back STRONG. At the end of March, we need you to…

1. Register and recruit (teams who register earlier tend to raise more money!)

2. Set your goal (choose a realistic number but make it a challenge! You can always increase it later)

3. Plan your year’s fundraisers (create your roadmap to help you get to your goal. Need ideas? Reach out to Sara Smith at sasmith@jdrf.org)

Are you looking for other ways to make this year a success? Volunteer!

Whether you’re cheering on teams or helping make a great V1P experience, you can have a huge impact this year by dedicating a few hours a month to one of our committees. Email sasmith@jdrf.org to learn more or give us a call at 215-375-1724.

We are so excited to have the opportunity to be back together in person. Let’s make this year better than ever!

Until there are cures,

Your GDV One Walk Team
