Want to support in a different way? Meet our Fund A Cure Family: The Harkins!

Ryan and Carolyn Harkins live in St. Davids, PA with their three children Liam (19), Colin (16), and Evie (13). Their family’s involvement with JDRF began in 2012 when Evie developed type 1 diabetes (T1D) at age four. Over the past decade, they have raised more than half a million dollars for T1D research and served in various JDRF leadership and volunteer roles. In 2020, Colin also developed T1D, and the Harkins family is more committed than ever to helping JDRF complete its mission. Evie and Colin will describe their T1D journeys at the 2022 One Dream Gala, focusing on the remarkable technological progress that has been achieved in recent years while also expressing their hopes and dreams for a cure that will permanently relieve the heavy burden, they and millions of others still carry.
