Driven by ways in which music connects and defines us on a deeper level, she explores multiple levels of consciousness. Maas notes that her paintings also address her ambivalence about chaos versus order, aging versus youth, and thoughtfulness versus spontaneity. The sounds and pieces of music that sneak into her work don’t always start that way, but somehow end up there. This piece was specifically made for JDRF, and Amy has been a longtime supporter of the Greater New England Gala.
