JDRF Illinois, the local chapter of the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research, announced the appointment of 14 new board members during the chapter’s Annual Meeting held via Zoom. The organization thanked supporters and board president Stephen Dragich (Schiff Hardin) for their roles in raising funds on behalf of the millions who suffer from T1D.

JDRF Illinois would like to welcome new board members Amy Aldridge, Todd Berger (Redwood Logistics), Maya Bordeaux, JD, MBA (ATPCO), Nanci Granahan (Blatchford Solutions), Karl Greiter (Teladoc), Gerald “Jerry” Hoffman (C.H. Robinson), Jim Kepple (Pizza Rev, Cleveland Avenue), Colin MacLean (BMO), Robin Melvin, Joe Nelligan (Molex, LLC), Stephanie Schneider (Publicis Groupe), Josh Sedler (CDW), Jonathan Vree (Gofen & Glossberg), and Daniel Warhaftig (Merrick Natural Petworks).

“This has been an extraordinary year. It is difficult in these times to share exciting news when we know that the world, the country, our city and our community has suffered, and JDRF has had one of the hardest years in record, but I am proud to say as a chapter we persevered and found new ways to make an impact,” said Mimi K. Crabtree, Executive Director of JDRF Illinois.

“Science and research have defined and guided JDRF for over 50 years. JDRF was built on this notion – of accelerating scientific breakthroughs to make the lives of those living with type 1 as manageable as possible. And it is exciting to see the effort and dedication that continues to drive this mission forward, especially in this fiscal year,” said Board Chair Steve Dragich.

Chapter boards and their members provide volunteer guidance to the chapter and play a vital role in executing fundraising, leadership and advocacy activities to ensure that its efforts remain aligned with the needs of people who live with T1D.
