Home Run at Victory Field!

post-walk-logo-pictureWow! The Indianapolis One Walk at Victory Field was an amazing day for our chapter. We had over 2,500 walkers, 150 volunteers and 30 sponsors come together to make this day a memorable one!

This year the winner of our T-Shirt contest, Got Good ADDIEtude, was the recipient of our new found tradition of having a traveling trophy! For many years to come, this trophy will be passed down from one winning team to the next. Put on your creative thinking hats now and who knows, next year your team may be the one bringing home the trophy!

After the Walk, we enjoyed food prepared by local Indianapolis restaurants thanks to Sysco Foods!  While attendees ate a variety of food samples, live music from local band DiscomBOBulated played in the background; helping create the perfect opportunity for our JDRF family to spend time with one another.

While the Walk may be over, we are still working towards our goal of $686,000! We need the help of each and every one of you to help push us over the top! Here are a few ideas on how you and your team can help us close the gap:

  • host a dine to donate night at your favorite restaurant
  • ask your place of employment to have a jeans day where all of the proceeds benefit your walk team
  • work with your child’s school to have a JDRF fundraiser-for example, invite all students and teachers to wear blue on World Diabetes Day in November and pay a certain amount to participate

Stay tuned for several upcoming incentive opportunities to help you and your team continue the fundraising!  Click here to view pictures from the day!
