Sherri joined JDRF in 2011 as the Associate Executive Director and moved into the Executive Director role in April of 2016. She has more than 20 years’ experience in fundraising and nonprofit management. She holds a B.S in Business Administration – Marketing & Finance and an M.P. A. – Nonprofit Management from UMKC Bloch School. She is a lifelong Kansas City area resident.
Jenai joined the JDRF team in April of 2017, assuming the Office Manager role. She has been volunteering for the One Walk and Dream Gala for about 15 years after her older brother Damon was diagnosed with T1D. Jenai lives in Excelsior Springs with her husband David and their son Fentyn.
Associate Executive Director
Jackie joined the JDRF Kansas City Chapter in July of 2018 as the Associate Executive Director. She graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Psychology and has over 13 years of fundraising and nonprofit experience. Jackie lives in Leawood with her husband Matthew, children Madison and Gavin, and Bella the bulldog.
Marlo joined the JDRF Kansas City Chapter in 2015. She was a volunteer for four years before that as her 16-year-old daughter Kara was diagnosed with T1D in 2011 at the age of 9. She previously served on Walk and Gala committees but her passion was always stewarding new families and learning the latest T1D technology. Marlo lives in Shawnee with her husband Trevor and Kara, and also has a daughter Taylor who is a freshman in college.
Miles joined the JDRF Kansas City Chapter as their Development Manager, overseeing the JDRF Kansas City Dream Gala in October of 2017. He studied Communication at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska and has an endorsement in Organizational Leadership from his Alma Matter. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, along with spending time outdoors with his two Labrador Retrievers. Miles is happy to be a part of the JDRF family and enjoys educating the Kansas City metropolitan area about JDRF’s ability to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent, and treat type 1 diabetes (T1D). Prior to Kansas City, Miles lived in Omaha, Nebraska where he was the Development Manager at the JDRF Omaha-Council Bluffs Chapter.
Julie joined JDRF in 2018 as the Development Manager for One Walk. She graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with a B.A. in Education and English. Julie has over 4 years of experience in non-profit fundraising and event planning. She is originally from Minneapolis but has lived in the Kansas City metro since 2011. She and her husband, John, currently live in Lee’s Summit with their Yorkie, Wally.
Rebecca joined the JDRF Kansas City Chapter in February of 2018 as the Development Coordinator. She was diagnosed with T1D when she was 9 years old. Rebecca’s older brother was diagnosed when he was just 16 months old. She graduated from The University of Missouri with a degree in Radio-Television Journalism. Rebecca lives in Brookside with her husband Cary and labradoodle Sadie Mae.
