That’s a Wrap One Walk!

in ,

This year, the Kansas & Missouri Chapter came together and hosted three incredible One Walks in support of JDRF’s vision of a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D). Check out some of the highlights from One Walk Kansas City, One Walk St. Louis, and Community One Walk Wichita below!

T1D Parade

We celebrated the first annual T1D parades at each walk site! As part of the opening ceremony, all T1D champions were gathered by how many years they’ve been a T1D warrior. The crowd cheered on these inspiring T1D warriors as they headed to the stage. The mosaic of our T1D champions together on stage was a truly touching moment!

Walk the Walk

We had thousands of walkers come together to bring us closer to a world without T1D. In Kansas City and St. Louis, our One Walk Youth Ambassadors kicked off each One Walk by cutting the arch ribbon. Look at all those smiling walk teams as they headed out onto the route!

T-Shirt Show & Walk Day Activities

Once walkers returned from the route, they were greeted with multiple activities! Walkers mingled with vendors, created some amazing crafts in the Activities Areas, and participated in the T-Shirt Show and to show off their awesome team t-shirts.

Volunteers

This event wouldn’t be possible without the help of our incredible volunteers! Throughout the day, JDRF One Walk Volunteers helped set up the walk site, cheered on walkers along the route, volunteered at walk site tents, and so much more! We are so appreciative of our volunteer support and their passion for JDRF. If you are interested in volunteering at a future event, please reach out to Madison Mueller at mmueller@jdrf.org.

Corporate Sponsors

Our heartfelt thanks go out to our 2023 One Walk sponsors. Thank you for making this incredible day possible! Together, we will turn type one into type none.
