DC Hope Gala: “The Road to a Cure” Raises Over $1.3 Million!

On Saturday, November 2, 2013, the JDRF DC Hope Gala: Road to a Cure, transformed the National Building Museum into a Wizard of Oz Emerald City with entertainment by Songs of Broadway. The night was chaired by Susan Traver and Craig Walling and awards were presented to Hope Champion Jonathan Russell Legg and Hope Honoree Larry Soler and the Soler Family for their continued commitment to JDRF.

The spectacular evening raised over $1.3 million dollars. Mark Meltzer and Philip Brady gave an emotional appeal about changing Type One into Type None and shared personal stories which reflected on their experience living with T1D. Hundreds of our supporters and over 30 JDRF Youth Ambassadors were in the room to help make this happen.
