For a number of weeks every year, JDRF partners with national chains to raise money for critical research by selling sneakers to costumers at check out. These sneaker sales not only raise millions of dollars for JDRF, but are also vital to increasing public awareness about JDRF and its mission.

To show appreciation, Matthew Butler, a local JDRF Youth Ambassador, spent a day giving Life Savers to local Kroger and Advance Auto Parts stores.

Matthew is an exemplary JDRF Youth Ambassador.  In addition to his numerous JDRF accomplishments over the years (top walk teams, Golden Sneakers, JDRF Childrens Congress, V1P, etc.), he still takes the initiative to show our corporate partners how grateful we are for their commitment to JDRF.

It pays to be good, too. When the woman from Kroger found out that Matthew was the one who left the Life Savers, she gave him 10 % off on a battery he was purchasing!
