How will a Greater Chesapeake and Potomac Chapter intern contribute to the mission of JDRF?

JDRF Greater Chesapeake and Potomac Chapter interns will be exposed to a wide variety of development practices and have a varied work experience.  In concert with the needs of the chapter, our program allows students to choose a facet of the organization that interests them and learn through hands-on experience. It is intended to provide knowledge, skills, and experience that each intern can apply to future challenges and professional pursuits. For more information about the JDRF Greater Chesapeake and Potomac Chapter, please read on and visit our website at: greatercp.jdrf.org.

Interns will have the opportunity to take a leadership role in a key project that may include:

  • Support logistical and recruitment planning, and follow-up for any or all our local, major events: JDRF TypeOneNation DC Research Summit; JDRF One Walk; JDRF Real Estate Games; JDRF Golf Classic; JDRF DC and MD Hope Galas; and JDRF Outreach program
  • Assist with the JDRF Kids Walk to Cure Diabetes presentations and programs at local elementary, middle and high schools
  • Support volunteer recruitment strategy and training program to support chapter initiatives
  • Plan and implement strategy and improvements to the chapter social media to effectively communicate JDRF’s message and provide clear opportunities for donor engagement
