Advance Auto knows a smart investment – a charity with the heart, soul, means and strategy to wipe this disease off the face of the earth.  The statistics are sobering.  Each year, 40,000 children AND adults are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) in the U.S.  They face a lifelong dependence on insulin and life-threatening medical complications.  There are no days off, and there is no cure – yet.

In a remarkable demonstration of the generosity of this region, this annual Star City event has raised more than $2.1 million to further the quest to treat, prevent, and find a cure for T1D.  More than 400 members of our community, representing many  leading business, civic and cultural leaders, will attend the Gala, which is known for its exceptional live and silent auctions, gourmet dinner and entertainment.
