We are pleased to announce that Kristen Komlosy has joined the JDRF Maryland Chapter as Executive Director. With over 10 years of leadership and management experience, Kristen has dedicated her professional career to working in the non-profit sector and is honored to serve the type 1 diabetes (T1D) community.

Kristen comes to us from Girls on the Run-DC, where she was the Executive Director since 2013. Prior to that, she was the Program Director at Girls on the Run – DC, where she started in August 2010. As Executive Director, she provided overall strategic direction for programming, fundraising initiatives, high-level volunteer engagement and financial operations efforts.  Most recently, she initiated and led an expansion of programming into Prince George’s County, MD. As a result, Girls on the Run – DC is now serving over 2,200 girls a year across all eight wards of Washington, DC as well as Prince George’s County.

Kristen and her husband live in Arnold with their two sons. Outside of work, Kristen enjoys spending time on the water with family and friends, hiking, working out and cheering on her sons during their soccer and lacrosse games! Kristen is also a graduate of Leadership Greater Washington – class of 2017.   She’s excited to meet many of you at the JDRF One Walk later this month.
