Minnesota Riders at the La Crosse ride

We kicked off the official JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes season with our JDRF Ride in La Crosse, WI on August 10 with 660 riders including 95 T1D riders from 37 JDRF chapters.  These riders rode across three states (Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa) raising $2.1 million for diabetes research.  Our JDRF Minnesota chapter was well represented with 38 riders.

Our JDRF Ride in Sonoma just took place on August 24 with over 650+ riders raising $3.1 million.  The Ride, which started in Santa Rosa, snaked through Marin and Sonoma counties before reaching Pacific Highway 1. After capturing some stunning views, riders returned through the rolling hills and vineyards of Northern California.  Minnesota rider Cameron VanDyke said, “What an incredible ride! There were lots of laughs and a couple tears, but I am proud to say I rode 80 of the toughest miles of my life yesterday. Thank you to everyone who has helped me through this journey of coming closer to a cure of type 1 diabetes.  Now on to the vineyards!  Until next year’s ride!”
