Welcome Merissa Davis, Utah Community Board President

in

JDRF Mountain West’s Utah Community Board is proud to announce Merissa Davis as the board president for the upcoming term.

Merissa’s commitment to JDRF and her evolution as a JDRF leader has been inspired by her son Otto, who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) over five years ago when he was two years old. Merissa has led the Utah gala auction committee for four years, including the past two years of challenging virtual events. HerĀ Piebetes_for_T1D has turned her passion for baking pies into a tremendous year-round fundraiser for Team OttoImmune and the JDRF One Walk.

The mother of two, Merissa is a wildlife biologist and love to spend time outside running, skiing, camping, hiking, biking and playing in the mountains. Merissa grew up in Wyoming at the base of the Tetons where her love for the mountains was nurtured.

Her support of raising funds to find a cure for type 1 diabetes has become her new “mountain to climb” as she cares for her son Otto. Says Merissa, “we will get to the top of this mountain and the view will be glorious when we do!”
