JDRF One Walk Spotlight: Dormie Network

in , , ,

We are Team Dormie! And we want to Turn Type One into Type None!

The Dormie Network is a private golf club network, with a home club wherever you want to go. Each club offers an intimate, pure golf experience in a relaxing and accommodating environment. Perfect for business or leisure, it’s the most highly curated overnight experience in private destination golf. Additionally, our Dormie Network Foundation supports nonprofits throughout the country through in-kind donations and cash grants.

We are thrilled to support JDRF’s mission of improving lives by accelerating life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat type 1 diabetes (T1D) and its complications. This mission is one that is shared with Dormie Network Foundation, as one of our four key giving pillars is healthcare/humanitarian efforts. We feel that an investment in JDRF is an investment in finding a cure for this disease.

This year Dormie Network is serving as the 2023 JDRF One Walk, Nebraska Presenting Sponsor, walking to end T1D as a corporate Walk team, and our Dormie Network Foundation Chief Philanthropy Officer, Brian Schenk, is the event’s Corporate Chair.

“I have had the privilege of working for and supporting many fantastic nonprofit organizations, and one that holds a special place in my heart is JDRF. My oldest brother was diagnosed T1D at a very early age, and his struggles burned a lasting impression in my mind. I want to do what I can to help eradicate type 1 diabetes, so that children, teens, and adults will not have to undergo what he had to. I serve locally on the JDRF Board of Directors for Nebraska and Iowa and continue to try to raise critical funds and awareness for this great organization,” Brian Schenk, Dormie Network Foundation Chief Philanthropy Officer.

Dormie Network supports JDRF with national sponsorship, local sponsorship, personal giving from senior leadership, and in-kind donations for 15 JDRF events YTD (generating more than $64,000 in donated funds). By supporting JDRF, our employees have the opportunity to spread awareness about T1D, help find cures, and to support newly diagnosed families in finding their community. We love Rufus the Bear with Diabetes®!

A couple of the ways we are fundraising for our corporate One Walk team are sharing our team donation link on social media and with local Dormie members in our weekly Members News email.
