Farewell Colleen and Welcome Phil

in

The Nevada Chapter is grateful for the many years of dedication Colleen Saca demonstrated to families living with type 1 diabetes in Southern Nevada. We wish her all the best in the future and look forward to the pictures and updates from the next steps in her journey.

There was no way to imagine on April 1, 1996, that my first day with JDRF would lead to a 21-year career that was so fulfilling, humbling, inspiring, and rewarding. Nor did I realize that I was about to embark on a journey that would change me for the better in ways I could not begin to conceive.

It is with much emotion that I announce my retirement from JDRF. The next phase of my lifeā€™s journey will allow me to spend more time with my husband, parents, children, and grandchildren. They have supported me in countless ways in the last 21 years and now Iā€™d like to spend my time supporting them and enjoying all that life has to offer.

I believe strongly in this organization and know in my heart that every one of us is making a difference in the lives of so many living with type 1 diabetes. There is no doubt that a cure is on the horizon and I will be proud to know that I played a small part in making it happen.

To my amazing staff team, all of the donors, volunteers, friends, and colleagues across the country, I wish you all the best. There is still much work to be done and I look forward to contributing in different ways as I begin the next phase of my lifeā€™s journey.

With appreciation,
Colleen Saca
