Back to School with T1D

As a parent, you know that your child spends most of their day in the school setting, in the care of teachers, nurses, and other school personnel. You know that the day-to-day disease management is intensive and the school plays an important role in this care.

JDRF understands the importance of your child’s care in the school setting and establishing the parent/School partnership. Now is the time to set up your health plan or 504 Plan, and meet with your child’s teachers.

As you prepare this August to start sending your T1D Back to school, we wanted to remind you that JDRF has an amazing School Advisory Toolkit that offers collaborative methods for educators and parents with T1D to ensure every child enjoys the best possible school experience. We are also more than happy to have you work with one of our JDRF Mentors if you have any questions leading up to the 2018-2019 school year. We are here to help!
