Our chapter is honored to present the Madonick Family with the Brendan Byrne Humanitarian Award for their unwavering support and dedication to JDRF’s mission to end type 1 diabetes (T1D).  Ten years ago, their son Brandon was diagnosed at the age of five.  Since then, they have worked hand in hand with JDRF to find a cure for T1D.  As a board member, a walk team, a Youth Ambassador, a Gala chair, and a T1D community member, the Madonick’s have paved a path of philanthropy in honor of their son and everyone who is affected by type 1 diabetes.  To learn more about their story or to make a donation in their honor, please visit their donation page.

We are proud to honor Dr. Eleanor Ramos and Dr. Francisco Leon at this year’s One Dream Gala.  Their work at Provention Bio led to the development of Teplizumab (TZIELD®), which is FDA approved for the delay in the onset of clinical diabetes in patients with stage 2 type 1 diabetes.
