The Draeger family will be honored for their exceptional commitment to the JDRF mission to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes (T1D). Ann Marie and Peter Draeger, together with their adult children Kellan, Rian and Elizabeth, have been active supporters of JDRF for more than twenty years.

Exceptional Commitment to JDRF is an understatement when speaking about the Draeger Family,” says Patty Sue Mozart, 2017 Tee to Table Chair. “Peter and Ann Marie have been dedicated to finding the cure for T1D since their two sons Kellan and Rian were diagnosed 20 years ago. They are a huge part of our support in our community and superheroes for our cause.

The Draeger family has been deeply involved with JDRF since both Kellan and Rian were diagnosed with T1D as children. Peter was a founding member and served as President of the JDRF Silicon Valley Branch. Owners of the gourmet food establishment Draeger’s Market located in Danville, San Mateo, Menlo Park and Los Altos, the family created the JDRF Walk team “Draeger’s Epicures for the Cure” in 1994. They have participated in JDRF One Walk since then, sponsoring and supplying refreshments for the Walk in Silicon Valley each year. Last year, the team raised more than $22,000, adding to a grand total of nearly $400,000 in fundraising, sponsorships and in-kind donations over the years.
