On Sunday, October 6th we hosted our 25^th One Walk in Sacramento. More than 3,500 walkers came together, helping to raise over $336,000 for type 1 diabetes research!

This year, we had 153 family teams and 21 corporate teams led by Grace’s Gang which has raised almost $30,000 to date and our presenting sponsor VSP who has raised over $90,000 and still counting!

On Walk day we had music by the Granite Bay High School Emerald Brigade marching band, Grant High School Drum Line, DonGato Latin Band as well as a warm-up by the Rio Linda Elverta Zumba team, a selfie station, face-painting, and the Whitney High School Cheer Squad cheering on our Walkers!

We were excited to be joined by everyone’s favorite mascot, Dinger, who helped in announcing the new location for next year’s JDRF One Walk.  On Sunday, October 4, 2020 our walk will move to Sutter Health Park (formerly Raley Field) offering walkers a new route, new entertainment and activities for walkers of all ages!

We can’t thank our walk community enough! The money raised at One Walk supports life-changing breakthroughs that give hope to everyone impacted by type 1 diabetes and even though Walk day has passed, you still have time to help us reach our fundraising goal of $382,000.

If you have made a donation to our Walk already, make sure to check and see if your company has a matching gift program. You can also host a fundraiser at your child’s school which will help raise awareness and at the same time will help raise money for your Walk team. The walk campaign ends on Saturday, November 30th. We have $382,000 in our sights, and we won’t stop until we reach our goal!
