JDRF Welcomes New Board Members

in

We are honored to welcome two new members to our Board of Directors!  Each brings their own unique skills, experience and passion to help steward the JDRF chapter with the goal of supporting the T1D community and advancing essential diabetes research.

Steve Park
Steve is a returning Board member who first became involved with the chapter in 2008. His wife Jennie has type 1 diabetes (T1D) giving him a personal connection to JDRF’s efforts to find a cure for T1D.

For the past several years, Steve has been actively involved with the chapter’s events including One Walk, Greg Vaughn Celebrity Golf Tournament, and especially the One Party Gala, where he served as the event Chair three years in a row. This summer, he and his wife Jennie hosted a golf tournament to help raise funds in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.  Over 100 participants joined the social distanced event with $9,000 raised directed to Fund A Cure. Steve will also be chairing the Board’s Nominations Committee after serving as a member for the past four years.

Steve works in commercial real estate at TRI Commercial and in his spare time enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time with his family, including his two sons.

Rachel Zillner
Rachel was first introduced to JDRF when asked to support a friend’s One Walk team. Since then, she’s learned of other T1D connections within her network of friends and is eager to help lend her expertise to increase awareness and support for JDRF.

Rachel is the owner of Clutch, an event management and consulting company, started in 2019. She made the decision to launch the company following a twenty year career in banking where she most recently served as Vice President of Community Banking and Membership at Safe Credit Union. Rachel has also served as Chair of Metro EDGE and served on the Metro Chamber and other foundation Boards. She has described herself as someone who gives her all into anything she puts her mind to (or name on).

Rachel and her husband David are parents to two young girls that bring endless joy to their lives.

Welcome Steve and Rachel!
