JDRF One Walk Corporate Chairs, in partnership with JDRF staff and volunteers, help lead our efforts in accelerating corporate and community support for the Walk. In their leadership role, they connect their business associates and employees with the JDRF mission and with each other. Not only do they rally a Walk team in their own workplaces, but they open up their networks and recruit more participants and supporters of type 1 diabetes (T1D) research.  

With much appreciation, we welcome our Corporate Chair for the 2022 JDRF One Walk, NorCal: 

Rick McConnell, Chief Executive Officer, Dynatrace

Rick McConnell first got involved with JDRF in 2018 when his daughter Emily was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D). He has been a successful technology executive for 30 years, establishing a reputation for scaling multibillion-dollar companies in competitive growth markets. He joined Dynatrace as Chief Executive Officer in December 2021. Prior to Dynatrace, he was President at Akamai Technologies and General Manager of Akamai’s Security Technology Group, where he was responsible for growing the company’s security business from a few million dollars of revenue in 2011 to becoming a $1.3+ billion business. Prior to Akamai, he was part of the early leadership team that built Cisco’s multibillion-dollar Communications and Collaboration business and served in several senior executive positions at Cisco Systems. We are grateful to Rick for his leadership this year!
