Year-End Reflection

While we prepare to turn the calendar on 2015, we are just approaching the halfway point of our JDRF fiscal year and on our way to raising over $4 million for T1D research!  It’s been a busy six months with the successful completion of our two fall walks in Greenville and Asheville, a number of destination Rides, and the overwhelming success of the Charlotte Hope Gala in November where we raised $1.2 million for T1D research!

After a brief holiday break, we will hit the ground running in January and will turn our attention to the Greenville Gala and our spring walks in Charlotte, Hickory and North Charlotte.   All of these events raise critical funds that allow us to move into research projects that in the short and intermediate terms result in tangible deliverables to people with T1D.

As an exciting development, in October, JDRF International announced its Strategic Plan Principles to accelerate progress along the road to insulin independence and ultimately a world without T1D.  Primary among its principles is the goal to do the greatest good for the largest number of people in the shortest amount of time.

Of course, we couldn’t do all that we do without our dedicated and generous volunteers, donors and JDRF staff team!

On behalf of the JDRF Greater Western Carolinas Board of Directors and JDRF staff, we wish you and your family a happy and safe holiday season filled with joy, peace and happiness!
