It is with great honor that the Triangle Eastern NC Chapter of JDRF announces that is has received for the year 2016-2017 the designation of Board of Excellence. This accomplishment shows the perseverance and commitment to develop a Board of Directors that exemplifies the highest standard of volunteer service and leadership dedicated to the vision and mission of JDRF. This local board, comprised of 26 highly committed people, meets regularly to continually team up with the …chapter staff and deliver great events and outreach opportunities for families living with type one diabetes to connect and form long standing friendships. Since 1996, when the chapter was formed, over $22 million dollars has been raised through events. As powerful as that number is, an equally powerful number is that since 2001, over $19 million dollars has come back to the Triangle area in the forms of research grants at local universities such as UNC at Chapel Hill, Duke University, and North Carolina State University. The board is committed to the future and the vision of JDRF, a world where type one diabetes no longer exists.
