T1D Research Update – Meeting Recap

in

On June 6th, Heath Clayton, T1D father and president of the Triangle/Eastern Chapter board, shared with us the progress we’ve made in the past year that is getting us closer to achieving our mission to improve lives today and tomorrow by accelerating life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications.

As Heath stated, JDRF staff and volunteers around the world share an unrelenting passion and commitment to greatly easing the burden of T1D from people’s lives until we find a cure. No other organization raises, drives and invests more funds to T1D research than JDRF.

We are at the center of the movement fighting to end T1D.  Our research portfolio spans more than 20 countries and brings together the best and brightest minds from across the globe, all striving to find a cure for this disease.

We don’t know where a cure will come from, but by supporting science across the field, we pave the way for monumental advancements.

The scientific advances to cure, prevent and treat T1D are the direct result of the generosity of time, money and talent of our volunteers, donors, and advocates.

In fact, thanks to all of our community members like you, last year we:
  • Raised, invested and drove $362.5M to T1D research
  • Received 11+ Regulatory Approvals in less than 1 year
  • Awarded more than 150 new research grants
  • Are now funding 75 clinical trials.
Let’s keep the momentum going!

Please continue to support JDRF through its fundraising, advocacy and outreach efforts. If you’re not already involved in these areas, feel free to reach out to the JDRF Coastal Carolina office at 910-509-9899 and we will be happy to help you.
