Congratulations to Team North Carolina for being recognized as the #2 fundraising chapter (with over $147,000 raised) at the Amelia Island Ride in Florida! Raising over $36,000, Brian Sacco came in seventh place for individual fundraising. The weekend’s inspiration culminated in Pat McFeeley being awarded the Promise jersey for his incredible leadership and commitment to JDRF’s mission!
One of the most well-known names in cycling, George Hincapie, also rode in Amelia with Team North Carolina. George brought victories in a record 17 Ronde van Vlaanderen races and a second-place finish at the grueling Paris-Roubaix, which was the best placement of any American. George also competed 17 times in the Tour de France and won three U.S. National Road Race championships. Thank you George, for your commitment to JDRF!
