2017 Imagine Gala Honorees: Charles & Rebecca Veigle Jr. and Family
Since their eldest daughter, Hannah’s, T1D diagnosis the entire Veigle Family has been a powerhouse of influence and commitment to JDRF. Charlie and Rebecca Veigle have been a part of the Central Florida Chapter beginning in 2011. Over their years of involvement they have been the top fundraising Family Walk Team multiple years in a row, been significant contributors to the success and growth of the Imagine Gala, and Hannah has participated in JDRF’s Children’s Congress, was our 2015 Imagine Gala Fund A Cure Speaker, and is a consistent advocate for JDRF and T1D research on every platform she holds.
As much as Charlie, Rebecca, and Hannah have done for JDRF the role the Veigles play truly is a family affair. Both Charlie’s mom, Gerri Leaman, and sister, Jennifer Mavrofrides, have participated in multiple JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes events and Gerri has served on our Chapter’s Board of Directors since 2015. On the Board, Gerri is our Government Relations volunteer. She puts together meetings with our local government officials and is one of the most passionate advocates for JDRF and our mission to end T1D this chapter has ever seen.
For all these reasons and so many more the Central Florida Chapter is grateful for this opportunity to honor Charles & Rebecca Veigle Jr. and Family at the 2017 Imagine Gala!
