You’ve taken the first step and registered to participate in the upcoming JDRF One Walk Jacksonville. Now, we want to share IMPORTANT information to help as you prepare for the upcoming Walk scheduled for Saturday, May 21^st at UNF’s J.B. Coxwell Amphitheater (new location this year)!

Thank you for registering for the JDRF One Walk.  Here are important details for Walk Day!

The walk will be Saturday, May 21^st at UNF’s J.B. Coxwell Amphitheater (rain or shine)! 

8:00 am         Gates Open and Festivities Begin!

8:30 am         Opening Ceremony and Warm-Up Begins

9:00 am         Walk Starts

Post Walk       Bounce Houses, Family Fun, Food and more!

This is my first time participating in the walk. What can I expect on Walk Day?

There is no check-in required at the walk and no money will be collected on Walk Day. You may donate online or mail your donation to JDRF Northern Florida-Jacksonville One Walk, 1850 Lee Road, Suite 132, Winter Park, FL 32789.  We encourage you to arrive early, enjoy the coffee, breakfast snacks and Opening Ceremony, then participate in our 1 Mile Loop or 5K walk around the UNF Campus.  Afterwards there will be more food, bounce houses, face painting and more!  

If this is your FIRST time at a JDRF One Walk, please stop by the New Family tent! We would love to welcome you in person and give you a welcome bag for your first JDRF One Walk.

If you have Type 1 Diabetes (T1D), be sure to visit the New Family Tent or the JDRF Information booth to get your free head buff.

Do all members of my walk team need to register online, including children?

Yes! Registering online gives you access to a number of great fundraising resources and lets us keep you updated on the latest JDRF and Walk info. It also gives us an idea of how many people to expect at the Walk, so we can plan ahead for refreshments, fun, and volunteer staffing.

What are the fundraising minimums?

All registered guests are invited to participate in the walk. Each walker who raises $100 will receive a JDRF One Walk T-shirt that will be mailed directly to them this year. (No shirts will be handed out on walk day this year) **Tip: If you want to make sure everyone on your team receives a shirt, please fundraise to the $100 mark for each walker.  

Donations can be made online or mailed in advance to the JDRF Northern Florida office. Please note our office has a new address: JDRF-Jacksonville One Walk, 1850 Lee Road, Suite 132, Winter Park, FL 32789.  We will not be accepting money on walk day.  The last day to turn in Walk Money for Recognition and walk prizes is June 30th.

What is a V1P?

A V1P is any individual that has raised $1,000 or more.  We recognize the hard work and dedication it takes for an individual to raise that amount and we want to honor you as a JDRF One Walk V1P!  If you are a V1P, please stop by the V1P area for many special treats!

How do I get to the UNF J.B. Coxwell Amphitheater and what parking options do I have?

The J.B. Coxwell Amphitheater is located at University of North Florida Dr., Jacksonville, FL 32224.   JDRF has parking reserved in the parking garage adjacent to the student union at UNF, and in Lots 5 and 18 in front of the tennis courts.  If you are a V1P (raised $1,000 or more before walk day), you will be sent a special parking pass providing you with preferred parking.  

Are dogs/strollers/wagons allowed at the Walk?

UNF is a Pet Free School with a no pet policy, so only service animals are allowed.  Strollers and wagons are welcomed!

Will Team Photos be available at the Walk?

Team Photos will be captured by Laurence Greene Photography during Pre and Post walk festivities.

What are the next steps for me to prepare for Walk Day?

Now is the time for FUNdraising and building your team!

Log in to the participant center http://walk.jdrf.org/Jacksonville2022  and invite your friends, family, colleagues to join you on walk day.  If you haven’t set your goals, do so now! Some find great success in linking their walk page to Facebook, sending a letter out, and more. It’s amazing how many WANT to support your efforts when you share your story!
