Anastasia Albanese-O'Neill

Bio

Anastasia Albanese-O'Neill

Dr. Albanese-O'Neill is an assistant professor at the University of Florida, College of Nursing, and serves as a nurse practitioner in the UF Health pediatric diabetes clinic. She became a volunteer with JDRF in 2002, the same year her eldest child was diagnosed with T1D. Since then, she has volunteered in many capacities, including two terms on the JDRF North Florida Board of Directors, as a Research Information Volunteer (RIV) since the program’s inception, and as the proud parent chaperone of a 2011 Call to Congress Delegate. She continues to participate in the JDRF One Walk each year with her family, friends, and colleagues.

Dr. Mark Atkinson

Bio

Dr. Mark Atkinson

Dr. Atkinson is currently Eminent Scholar for Diabetes Research at The University of Florida and serves as Director of the UF Diabetes Institute. The author of over 375 publications, He is beginning his 30th year of investigation into the field of type 1 diabetes. He is also the recipient of multiple scientific and humanitarian based awards for these efforts. Those include three from the JDRF.
