Join us for the next Type1Tuesdays (for Teens!) gathering on Zoom, hosted by two local high schools students, Sadie and Drew Campbell.
Join us for the next Type1Tuesdays (for Teens!) gathering on Zoom. This month we will be joined by Sophia Helme and her diabetes alert dog, Duffy. Sophia is 22 years old from Sarasota and was diagnosed with T1D at the age of 11. She is currently in college studying elementary education and she hopes to one day become a 3rd grade teacher. Sophia and Duffy were united in November 2019 and she credits him with saving her life on multiple occasions. She is going to share her experience with how she got Duffy and everything that is involved with having a diabetes alert dog.
Sadie and Drew are excited to be hosting this monthly Zoom meeting to give local T1D teens (ages 12-18) a chance to meet other teens living with T1D, connect, vent, share and learn. Just over two years ago, Drew was diagnosed with T1D and following his diagnosis Sadie tested positive for auto antibodies but has not yet been diagnosed. They are both passionate about T1D and are looking forward to connecting with other local T1D teens.
