Senior Salute – JDRF Youth Ambassador Lexi

in

JDRF Dallas is celebrating the Class of 2020!  Meet graduating senior and JDRF Youth Ambassador, Lexi Quilty.  Lexi is a long time volunteer who also represented JDRF in Washington, D.C. during the 2019 Children’s Congress.

About Lexi

“I am graduating from John H. Guyer high school in the top 5% of my class with honors in National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and the National Spanish Honor Society. I also served as class Vice President for the Class of 2020 this past year!

I will be attending Dallas Baptist University in the fall with a major in Communications/ Public Relations. I will also be pursuing a career in aviation, as I start flight training at a local airport in the fall!

I want to leave everyone with a daily reminder that I tell myself: “No bad days, only bad moments.” This really lets me live my life to the fullest and keeps me from dwelling on anything negative that may come my way. My favorite part about being in the JDRF community is the support, especially everyone who supported me as I attended Capitol Hill during Summer 2019 as a Children’s Congress Delegate. I am forever grateful for that experience, and it has since been my favorite memory ever. Thank you JDRF Dallas for an amazing past few years, I am beyond thankful”.

Congratulations from all of us at JDRF Dallas, Lexi!  We know you will continue to be an inspiration for those living with type 1 diabetes!
