JDRF Greater Northwest & Seattle Guild Internship Now Accepting Applications

Join the JDRF Greater Northwest & Seattle Guild for an exciting internship opportunity. This internship is open to current college students in their sophomore thru senior year. Mid Winter/Spring internships occur from mid-February through May 2019. This internship will be based out of the Seattle, WA JDRF office. About the JDRF Greater Northwest & Seattle Guild: The Greater Northwest Chapter & Seattle Guild serves people impacted by type 1 diabetes in Washington, Alaska, Northern Idaho, and Montana.Ā  Volunteers, board members and staff work in partnership to raise the funds needed ā€œto turn type one into type noneā€ as well as provide support, awareness and resources to our community.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher) and social media
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required, public speaking experience is a plus
  • Organized with the ability to multi-task
  • Creative thinker with the ability to work independently
  • Current college student in sophomore thru senior year

Qualifications

  • Interest in type 1 diabetes, public health, community outreach, event planning, non-profit administration
  • Experience with non-profit management, marketing, grant research, or health education is ideal
  • Positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate on projects and pitch in when needed
  • Desire to work and learn about non-profit special events and community outreach

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Outreach, South Sound OneWalk, Golf Classic, Dream Gala, Ride to Cure, and Beat the Bridge staff
  • Research grant opportunities
  • Assist with the coordination & implementation of Chapter events and programs
  • Assist with marketing tasks: website, social media, and mailings
  • General office administrative projects as needed

Schedule

  • Time commitment: At least 3 months, minimum 6 hours a week
  • JDRF Office hours: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm
