JDRF South Central Texas will host its 11th Annual Stratton Scramble Golf Tournament on Friday, May 10, 2024. We are sending you BACK TO THE FUTURE at the 25th Annual Promise Ball on Saturday, May 11, 2024. Both events will be held at the beautiful and newly renovated Hyatt Hill Country Resort & Spa.
We will celebrate the tenacity and courage displayed by the Type 1 diabetes community and most importantly raise critical funds to support life-changing research. With your commitment and support, we will make history by making Type 1 diabetes the first non-infectious chronic disease ever eradicated!

ABOUT TYPE 1 DIABETES
Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease that, without warning, strikes people of all ages, from infancy through adulthood. T1D has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle and it cannot be prevented. T1D occurs when the body’s immune system attacks and destroys the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas. Insulin is essential for survival. At present there is no cure. T1D causes lifelong dependency on insulin injections or insulin pump therapy and 24/7 management of blood sugar levels through finger pricks and blood glucose monitoring systems. It requires intensive, never-ending management and carries the weight of life-threatening complications.

In 2022 the JDRF Golf Tournament was renamed the Stratton Scramble after local philanthropist, Physician and Type 1 diabetic Cary Stratton, M.D. He has helped to raise over a million dollars for the Type 1 diabetes community through his lifelong commitment.
The tournament on the scenic Arthur Hills-designed golf 27-hole championship golf course will feature:

- Helicopter Ball Drop 12:30 pm
- Shotgun Start 1:00 pm
- On-course activities such as tastings and games
- Snack & beverages throughout the day
- Golf Cannon

SATURDAY MAY 11, 2024
The JDRF Promise Ball attracts more than six hundred guests annually, including many area philanthropists, corporate trail blazers and city leaders. The funds raised at the Promise Ball play a critical role in funding ground breaking research and resources for both long-term and newly diagnosed Type 1 diabetics. The 2023 JDRF Promise Ball raised over 1.5 million dollars!

Born in Nashville, TN., Jackson was surrounded by music throughout his childhood. Picking up the acoustic guitar at age six, his passion for bringing joy to others through music began. In 2015, after moving to San Antonio, TX., he incorporated electric guitar and vocals performing for audiences in both public and private settings. Jackson’s music is country at heart, but also a callback to the 70s and 80s soul, country and soft rock creating a style of music that is fresh and distinctly his own. Jackson’s energy on stage and his ability to connect with audiences young and old make him a standout among artists of all genres.
