Start Your New Year’s Resolution to Volunteer More Today!

With the New Year come resolutions for 2017. You may have considered volunteering on your list of resolutions and if so we would love for you to consider donating your time and talent at the JDRF Northeast Wisconsin Chapter.

There are many options for anyone to get involved. From being an event volunteer to committee and Board opportunities. JDRF volunteers are the driving force behind our progress toward curing, treating and preventing T1D.

A commitment of only a few hours a week from volunteers like you goes a long way toward meeting our chapterā€™s many needs. Here is a note from our Volunteer Engagement Chair if you still need some convincing!

“My name is Elaine Bader and I serve on our chapter’s board as the Volunteer Engagement Chair. I first got involved with JDRF 9 years ago after my son, Grant, was diagnosed with T1D at the age of 3.Ā  I started with the family walk in Neenah and have participated every year (Grant enjoys the walk too!) to help fund a cure for diabetes.Ā  Next, I began volunteering for the Celebrity Gala for the past 7 years.Ā  I am now in my 3rd year on the board and am excited to be a part of JDRF and the advancement of therapies that JDRF has funded, including the artificial pancreas.

As we begin 2017, I would like to encourage all of us who know someone with T1D to volunteer with the NEW JDRF chapter.Ā  Whether you would like a one time commitment such as helping with our walks in Green Bay, Neenah, Fond du Lac or Stevens Point, or maybe a weekly or monthly commitment helping in our office, I believe you will find it as rewarding as I have!Ā  Being a part of an organization that is making lives easier for our loved ones is an opportunity I am fortunate to be a part of.Ā  Please join me in 2017 to help make a difference in a T1D’s life.”
