Introducing our 2018-2019 Youth Ambassadors

The JDRF Northeast Wisconsin Chapter is proud to introduce our ’18-’19 Youth Ambassadors.  We are excited to see this talented group make an impact in our community.

My name is Collin! I was diagnosed with type one diabetes in 2015 at age 7. I am currently using Omnipod and just started using Dexcom. I enjoy reading books (especially Harry Potter) riding my bike, playing video games and shooting guns with my dad. I can’t wait to help out all the new kids with diabetes and help them know they aren’t alone and they will be ok.

Hi, I’m Emmie. I have Type 1 diabetes(T1D). I was diagnosed the day after my 11th birthday. I’m 17 years old and I’m going into my senior year of high school. My father also had T1D. I’m in multiple sports; I enjoy playing volleyball, basketball, softball and I am joining power-lifting.

Hi, I’m Emma and I live in Green Bay.  I was diagnosed with type one diabetes in August of 2016. Since my diagnosis, I have continued competing in numerous sports, volunteering in my local community and doing well in school. My hobbies include running, scuba diving, socializing with friends and listening to music. I am excited to begin advocating for JDRF and look forward to further educating individuals on type one diabetes and promoting the efforts to find a cure.

Hi, I’m Gavin.  I’m 15 years old and was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2016, but I haven’t let T1D slow me down.  I’m an avid athlete who loves all things sports. I play basketball and I’m on a Wisconsin travel baseball team.

Living with T1D has motivated me to show others how to overcome the challenges associated with living with T1D, and through my love of sports I hope to raise disease awareness and inspire others in the T1D community to chase and follow their dreams.

I love to golf, read and play piano. I try to be a great advocate for others who have T1D. I do several fund raisers each year to contribute to JDRF.
