Meet the DeMoulin Family our 2020 Fund A Cure Family!

On February 22nd our family is sharing our story during Fund A Cure at the JDRF Celebrity Gala. Fund A Cure is an opportunity to make an impact on the lives of people living with T1D and their loved ones through a 100% tax-deductible donation, which will accelerate life-changing research.  If you would like to support T1D Research through Fund A Cure, but aren’t able to make the Gala this year, you can still donate today by Clicking Here

Here is some of the story that Sophia’s Dad will be sharing at the JDRF Gala.

Our normally incredibly sweet almost never irritable Sophia started to have some behavior changes.  We thought, maybe we had just been a bit lucky during the “terrible twos” and “threes” and for us it would be the “terrible fours”.  We called the clinic and they said- it sounded like a bladder infection- and since we were only three days away from Christmas, she should come in so we “didn’t have to deal with anything over the Holidays”.  But on December 22nd, 2014, our daughter Sophia was diagnosed with Type One Diabetes.

We were SO scared.  But tried to remain tough for Sophia- who through the whole time had a huge smile on her face and thought a “sleep over in the hospital would be fun.

Sophia’s attitude from Day 1 was amazing. She never really complained.  Sophia is an amazing little nine year old. She is the sweetest daughter and big sister and she has taken on this challenge in stride.

We look forward to sharing our T1D Journey with all of you and the impact JDRF is having on research to end T1D. If you cannot make it or are inspired to make a donation directly to research Click HERE.
