As we embrace the start of a new year, we also celebrate the return of our Ride to Cure Diabetes program. Whether you’re new to cycling or you’re a seasoned rider, take time this year to learn about Ride to Cure!

JDRF Ride to Cure Diabetes features destination bike rides arranged around the country. Ride to Cure offers the chance for newbies or pros to experience cycling in unique locations, make new friendships, experience the unparalleled camaraderie of the Ride community and raise money to find a cure for type 1 diabetes (T1D).

You’ll choose your own fundraising packages and set your own mileage goal. Along the way, you’ll receive the full support of the JDRF Ride Community, from our local ride coaches to fundraising experts who will help you reach, and exceed, your fundraising goals.

There are five 2017 Rides to Cure Diabetes across the country. The rides, which occur August through November, each offer a unique and unforgettable experience. From riding the rolling hills of upstate New York to being one of 9,000 riders in the desert of Tucson, JDRF has a ride for you.

The 2016 Ride season was absolutely incredible — nearly 2,000 riders raised more than $8 million dollars! The Amelia Island, Florida, ride was the largest-ever JDRF Peer-to-Peer Fundraising event, with riders raising nearly $3 million dollars for JDRF and T1D research!

The 2017 Ride season stands to be another fantastic year with the inclusion of two new rides in Colorado and Saratoga Springs. Registration for all 5 ride destinations opens on Wednesday, January 18th at 12 PM EST at ride.jdrf.org.  For more information on Ride, visit us online or contact Development Manager Sandy Hilsenrath at SHilensrath@jdrf.org or at 732-247-6654.

You’ll join fellow riders to take part in lively seminars, excursions around town, award dinners and team celebrations that all lead up to the main event — Ride Day.

La Crosse, Wisconsin | August 10-13, 2017

Nestled between the bluffs of Wisconsin and the majestic Mississippi River, you’ll enjoy scenic views as you cross two bridges and three states. This JDRF-only Ride is one of our largest, so you’ll have the strength and support of hundreds of riders and volunteers to help you achieve your mileage goal. This route is relatively flat, making it family-friendly — and ideal for new cyclists.

Loveland, Colorado | August 24-27, 2017

Nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Northern Colorado just 45 minutes north of Denver, Loveland is the perfect spot to launch all your outdoor adventures. Hailed as the Gateway to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park, Loveland is an ideal location that appeals to all types of cyclists. This will be a JDRF-only Ride and offers multiple route options ranging from 32 to 100 miles.

Saratoga Springs, NY | September 14-17, 2017

Located the southernmost foothills of the Adirondack Region, Saratoga Springs combines the quaintness of New England with the beauty of upstate New York. This ride will easily feature some of the most scenic roads in the northeast just as the fall foliage begins to turn. This JDRF-only Ride offers multiple route options, ranging from 32 to 100 miles.

Amelia Island, Florida | October 5-8, 2017

Flat roads, Spanish moss and ocean views are just a few of the highlights that will welcome riders to this beautiful location. Expect to cycle along pristine beaches, over marshlands and through beautiful maritime forests. The forgiving flat terrain and multiple route options makes this Ride a perfect option for families and newer cyclists.

El Tour de Tucson, Tucson, Arizona | November 16 – 19, 2017
