As the largest global nonprofit funder of research to cure, prevent and treat type 1 diabetes (T1D), no organization is more passionate, more committed and more impatient to put an end to T1D than JDRF. And no organization has made more progress toward that goal than JDRF.

JDRF funds the best research for T1D, wherever it is happening, to advance our mission. We are unlocking the science that will lead to a cure and universal prevention, and along the way, driving delivery of new treatments and therapies that make day-to-day life with T1D easier, safer and healthier.

But the impact of our organization extends well beyond our direct investments.

JDRF works creatively and effectively to influence other organizations—companies, nonprofits and governments in the U.S., Europe, Canada and Australia—to fund T1D research and advocate for removing regulatory and commercial barriers to life-changing T1D therapies.

We partner with the private sector, foundations and governments, generating substantial additional dollars for T1D research beyond our own direct spending. We foster scientific exchanges among academics, industry and government, speeding development of breakthrough products to put research dollars to best use. We advocate for regulatory approval and public and private insurance coverage for T1D therapies, maximizing returns on invested funds.

Under leadership by people directly touched by T1D, and through direct support, strategic partnerships and effective advocacy, JDRF continues to have more impact than any other organization in the world on driving progress to cure, prevent and treat T1D.
