Another successful Promise Ball 2014 for the Eastern Pennsylvania Delaware Chapter!

We raised more than $1.054 Million at an incredible evening topped off with very generous giving.  Thank you, thank you and THANK YOU!.

The JDRF mission was strong and evident throughout the evening!  Words of thanks cannot be expressed enough for all that Gala Chair, Nancy Wolfson and Auction Chair, Heather Giacoio did to ensure not only great fun but also great fundraising through the night.  The auction had so many unique and creative items this year – and the display was terrific.

We are very grateful to Dr. Ali Naji for his tremendous work in diabetes research and his words of encouragement and appreciation.  It was very fitting that some of our Junior Ambassadors joined him on stage to receive the award.  Dr. Naji’s comments about the importance of clinical trials set the stage for Sydney Cohn’s incredible speech for Fund A Cure.  This was a full-mission evening with JDRF’s top-funded researcher in Philadelphia kicking off the evening about research and one of our Junior Ambassadors talking about her experience in the clinical trial for the Artificial Pancreas.  It was exciting to say the least to watch the expressions of all of our guests in the ballroom be moved by Dr. Naji and Sydney.

A Gala such as the Promise Ball is a BIG undertaking – and dependent on many dedicated volunteers who commit hours and hours asking for support; gathering ads for the Tribute Journal; procuring hundreds of items for the Auction; selling raffle tickets; encouraging your friends to participate and asking for gifts.  JDRF volunteers are the heart of what makes our Promise Ball successful – and those of us on the staff could not do what we do without you.

Thank you for making the Promise Ball Gala successful again this year as we work towards making type one type none!
