Tips and Tricks to help you reach your goals for the JDRF One Walk Utah, Presented by Clyde Companies

The 2024 JDRF One Walk Utah, Presented by Clyde Companies is a little over a month away on Saturday, May 18th at the Shops at South Town in Sandy, Utah and you do not want to miss out on the largest T1D party in the state!

Check out these tips and tricks to help you reach your fundraising goals and earn incentives:

  • Set a Goal: Use your goal to tell the story of why you support JDRF. One way to do this is to utilize the T1D Footprint Generator to figure out the number of days you’ve lived with T1D, hours of sleep lost, or number of finger pokes since diagnosis. Use that number to set your goal and share that with your network.
  • Use Social Media: Did you know that walkers who connect their fundraiser to Facebook raise on average 2.5 times more than those who do not? This makes it easy for your community to give. Not on Facebook? Get creative with Instagram by sharing your story, linking to your Walk page, and more.  Click here for a how-to!
  • Download the JDRF One Walk App: Use the NEW JDRF One Walk App to make sharing your story to social media, text, and email even easier with templates and scheduling capabilities to make fundraising a no-brainer! Download it from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store!
  • Sell a Service: Offer your time and talent to your community in exchange for donations. This could be mowing lawns, shoveling, babysitting, cleaning…  the sky is the limit!  Click here for more ideas.
  • Employer Matching Gifts: Did you know many employers will match a donation dollar for dollar? Make sure your donors check with their HR team to see if their donations can be doubled. Let JDRF know a matching gift is coming so we can credit it to your team.
  • Say Thank You: Don’t forget to thank your donors! Whether you give them a shout-out on social media or send a handwritten note in the mail, always take the time to thank those who have supported you.

Remember, your JDRF staff team is here to help! Do you have questions or need help creating a fundraising plan? Reach out to Mackenzie at MTurner@jdrf.org or 801-518-6736.
