JDRF One Walk & Ride to Cure: 2020 Fall Celebrations
We did it! So thankful for everyone who came together last Sunday, November 1st to celebrate our 2020 JDRF One Walk in Nebraska and Southwest Iowa – it was a wonderful day full of connection, celebration, and hope. Our walkers know that every day we come together to fight for a cure is a good day!

Despite every obstacle 2020 has thrown our way, our incredible JDRF community across the nation has raised just over $17M and counting! Thank you for sticking with us every step of the way. With your help, we are well on the way to hitting our goal which means more type 1 diabetes (T1D) connections, more funded research, and more support for T1D families.

If you missed tuning in on Sunday, the One Walk website will be open through November so you can visit our Mile of Hope supporters, T-shirt Gallery, ROBLOX interactive video, Partner Pavilion, and watch the amazing stories in the One Walk National Ceremony!

A very special thank you to our 175 dedicated Riders for continuing with the My Ride this year! View a full list of Riders, award recipients and watch the National My Ride celebrations HERE!

Be well, stay safe, and thank you,

Laci Naber, Executive Director and AnnElise Walsh, Iowa Market Director

Insulin Affordability & Advocacy
JDRF is pleased to partner with Beyond Type 1, and other stakeholders, on getinsulin.org. This tool helps meet an immediate need for people in the United States to access insulin while we continue to work on long-term solutions to address insulin affordability. It also complements JDRF’s ‘Help with Costs’ page, which provides people with a variety of ways to access insulin. Anyone in need of help can visit getinsulin.org for a customized action plan, available in English and Spanish.

Making Beta Cells from Stem Cells Automated and Reproducible
Jeffrey Millman, Ph.D., is a powerhouse of diabetes research. This past year, the Millman Lab has succeeded in genetically engineering patient cells to become nondiabetic and reverse diabetes in mice, emphasizing the potential for personalized medicine. Read more about this exciting discovery.
